Bringing a new generation of health care to the Western Sydney region, Matilda Nepean provides specialist inpatient care and day programs that foster health and wellbeing in a boutique hotel style setting.
Matilda Nepean partnered with Crown Furniture to furnish the new sub-acute healthcare facility. We understand the significance of having appropriate furniture in promoting patient recovery and well-being.
As the flagship hospital for Matilda Health Care, this 90-bed sub-acute private hospital is a clinician led service, valuing high quality services and world class facilities. Interior Design firm Nettletontribe were brought onboard to bring Matilda Health Care’s vision to life, designing a luxurious facility that prioritised style, function and safety.
When it came to choosing furniture for the project, Nettletontribe recommend Crown Furniture, knowing the team would help to transform their ideas into reality, creating bespoke fit-for-purpose furniture pieces that were thoughtfully designed to suit each zone.
With the hospital caring for a wide variety of patients, it was essential that furnishings were adjustable to suit each patient – from banquet tables and adjustable height chairs to chairs with wheels that could easily be moved from place to place.
More challenging environments such as the rehab and mental health facilities required bespoke pieces, designed with those specific patients in mind. For rehab patients, we ensured that seats and lounges were supportive and height adjustable, allowing patients to find the perfect position whilst recovering from surgery. For the mental health areas, infection control and safe anti-ligature designs were the top priority, ensuring furniture could not be weaponised or pose a risk to patients or staff.
In patient areas, it was important that storage was maximised without requiring additional furniture pieces, leading to the design of day beds with in-built storage. The end result is a stunning boutique healthcare environment where every detail has been carefully thought out.
With intentional design and custom made multi-functional furnishings, this state of the art facility has equipped Matilda Healthcare with everything they need to provide the world-class level of healthcare they aspire to, ensuring the needs of every patient are met.
