An 85-bed private surgical and rehabilitation hospital set within the bushland of Terrey Hills on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Wyvern Private Hospital is immersed in its natural surroundings, embracing light, landscape and openness to create a calm, restorative environment guided by its philosophy of care without compromise.

Wyvern Private Hospital brings together something rarely achieved in healthcare environments, clinical excellence grounded in a deeply considered human experience. Purpose-built and thoughtfully planned by doctors, the facility delivers a broad range of specialist services, from spinal, orthopaedic and vascular surgery to rehabilitation and pain management, within a setting that feels composed, restorative and quietly refined.

With eight operating theatres, dedicated surgical and rehabilitation beds, ICU capability, and integrated clinical support services, Wyvern is technically advanced. Yet what defines it is not scale or capability alone, but the way its environment supports patients, practitioners and staff alike. Surrounded by natural bushland and anchored in a philosophy of “care without compromise,” the hospital reduces stress, promotes recovery and creates a sense of ease at every touchpoint.

Central to this vision was the client’s clear understanding that, in private healthcare, attracting and retaining leading doctors goes beyond clinical capability. Crown Furniture engaged early with the FFE consultant and worked closely with the client throughout the project. The team balanced an up-market aesthetic with strict budget requirements while working within tight timelines. They took a flexible, responsive approach, delivering key seating early to support immediate operational needs, followed by staged deliveries aligned with the hospital’s opening program.

Within this framework, the focus remained on creating spaces that feel welcoming, reassuring and enduring. Across shared areas, a consistent suite of seating, the Thorsten Tub Lounge, Mialla Armchair, and Ruby seating range, establishes a cohesive and recognisable experience. Upholstered in a balanced palette of blue, green and brown, these pieces introduce a calm, nature-inspired tone that flows seamlessly through waiting, dining and communal environments.

The Thorsten Tub Lounge brings quiet sophistication, with its hand-turned timber frame and generous, enveloping form offering a comfortable place to settle. The Mialla Armchair adds structure through clean lines and an inviting profile suited to both dining and shared settings. Complementing these, the Ruby Lounge Chair, available in single and two-seater options, provide relaxed seating for longer stays and informal interaction.

Together, these elements create a unified visual language and a sense of continuity throughout the hospital, reinforcing an environment that feels cohesive, supportive and carefully considered for patients, visitors and clinicians alike.
