For their new Penrith location, Cura Day Hospitals Group approached Crown Furniture to design a space that would be comfortable, functional and reflect the company’s mission and branding.
To ensure we could exceed expectations, the project began with a walk through of the space with one of our project consultants. During this walkthrough with the client, we established their needs, put forward recommendations on the best way to utilise the space and then finalised the details and spatial planning. For Cura Day Hospitals Groups, it was essential that the design reflected the company’s logo, graphics and patterns. To achieve this, Crown Furniture partnered with Materialised to design custom fabrics that were then used throughout the facility.
Flexibility was also incredibly important for the space, with staff needing to be able to move furniture quickly and easily to suit a wide variety of patients. Achieving this was simple, with the team selecting furniture that could be easily rolled out of the way or reconfigured by staff.
But it’s not just about looks – as a health facility, Cura Day Hospitals Group needed every furniture piece to be safe, hygienic and fit-for-purpose. Each of the custom fabrics used are moisture-barrier fabrics for easy cleaning, with anti-microbial lacquers used to reduce the risk of infection. For the patient, comfort is not overlooked with every curve, cushion and arm rest designed with their needs in mind.
The end result is a stunning facility that truly complements Cura Day Hospitals Group’s hard work. The perfect combination of style and function, this state of the art day Somerset Private Hospital ticks all of the boxes – and we are grateful to have played a part.
