Knowing that people want to grow old in their own communities, with as much independence and purpose as possible, Uniting AgeWell Preston Community was created to support each resident’s ageing journey through choice, autonomy, flexibility and community.

Unitng Agewell Preston is a brand new aged care facility offering 104 beds just 9km from the heart of Melbourne CBD. Crown Furniture was contracted to collaborate with Thomson Adsett on the interior design and colour consultation for the knock-down rebuild project, with the team manufacturing the majority of the common area and bedroom furniture for the project.

The RISE approach (responsive, integrated, safe and effective) used by Uniting AgeWell was matched by our fit for purpose furniture, with Crown Furniture collaborating with the team and designers to create a safe, secure and homely environment for residents.

Opting for a muted colour palette of calm neutrals, paired with sleek wood finishes, fresh greenery and pops of colour, the space achieves an elusive balance of style and comfort.

Every piece of furniture was selected with residents needs in mind, giving them the freedom to freely move throughout the home – increasing their confidence, independence and reinforcing that sense of “home”.

All in all, Uniting AgeWell Preston is the perfect example of how function doesn’t need to impede style, with residents, staff and visitors enjoying the serene, homelike environment designed to meet their every need.
